Studio 2ndStage's final production of the 2013-2014 season is the edgy and strangely charming Carrie: The Musical, co-directed by Studio 2ndStage Artistic Director Keith Alan Baker and Jacob Janssen. From Lawrence D. Cohen, Michael Gore and Dean Pitchford, 2ndStage's CARRIE stars Tony Award nominee Barbara Walsh as Carrie's mother, Margaret White, with Emily Zickler making her Studio Theatre debut playing the titular role. Scroll down for a first look at the mother-daughter duo!

Carrie is lonely. Carrie is angry. Carrie will fit in. Whatever it costs. New blood courses through this contemporary rock musical, based on Stephen King's haunting story of teen angst, relgious fervor, and the complicated relationship between a mother and daughter. As Carrie navigates the harsh realities of high school bullying and her overprotective mother, a new and violent power is unleashed inside her-and she'll use it.

Walsh was previously seen in Studio's production of Grey Gardens in 2008. She received a Drama Desk Award and was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in Falsettos on Broadway. Walsh also appeared in the Broadway productions of Big (1996) and the 2006 revival of Stephen Sondheim's Company. Regionally, she has worked at Baltimore's Center Stage, the Paper Mill Playhouse, and the Goodspeed Opera House, among others.

Also in the cast are Maria Rizzo (Sue Snell), Rob Mueller (Tommy Ross), Eben Logan (Chris Hargensen), AJ Melendez (Billy Nolan), Jamie Eacker (Miss Gardner), Ben Lurye (Mr. Stephens), Dani Stoller (Norma), Sarah Chapin (Frieda), Lance Hayes (George), David Little (Stokes), Christian Montgomery (Freddy), Taylor Elise Rector (Ensemble), and Sean Patrick Grady (Ensemble).

The creative team features: Keith Alan Baker (Director), Jacob Janssen (Co-Director), Darius Smith (Musical Director), Michael J. Bobbit (Choreographer), Solomon Hailie Selassie (Assistant Director), Luciana Stecconi (Set Designer), Kelsey Hunt (Costume Designer), Laura J. Eckelman (Lighting Designer), Sarah Tunderman (Projection Designer), and A.J. Johnson (Sound Designer)
