Photo Flash: First Look at Factory 449's LELA & CO., Featuring Felicia Curry

On Saturday September 16, 2017, Factory 449, a Helen Hayes Award-winning theatre company in residence at Anacostia Arts Center, opened the East Coast premiere of "Lela & Co." by Cordelia Lynn. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the production, which runs through October 1st, below!

In the play, Lela marries and is relocated to an unnamed country in the throes of civil war, she finds herself isolated, locked up, and eventually enslaved. Based on a true story, "Lela & Co." unravels a story of war, oppression and sex trafficking through language that flits from colloquial naivety to sharp wit.

"Lela & Co." features five-time Helen Hayes Award nominee Felicia Curry as Lela, with Renaldo McClinton as all of the men in her life.

The production is directed by Helen Hayes Award-winner Rick Hammerly. The production and design team includes Helen Hayes Award nominee Greg Stevens (Set design), Helen Hayes Award-winner William D'Eugenio (Lighting Design), Scott Hammar (Costume design), Tosin Olufolabi (Sound design), Linda Lombardi (Dramaturg), and Patrick Landes (Stage Manger).

Performances are Thursday through Sunday from September 8th to October 1st, 2017. Tickets are $22 and available online at lelaandco.brownpapertickets.com or www.factory449.org.
