Pallas Theatre Collective is elated to present the world premiere of the new musical code name: CYNTHIA. With music by Karen Multer and book & lyrics by Steve Multer, code name: CYNTHIA will run tonight, July 30-August 16, 2015 at the Anacostia Arts Center.

Originally conceived after a visit to the International Spy Museum, code name: CYNTHIA is an action-packed musical based on the true story of American World War II spy Betty Thorpe. The musical opens as Paris falls to the Nazis and master spy Betty Thorpe (code name: Cynthia) barely escapes with her life. When a mysterious mastermind blackmails the stunning beauty back into intelligence for the Allies, Betty resolves to seduce the enemy, steal France's naval codes from the Vichy Embassy in Washington, DC, and save her own delicate world from falling to pieces.

code name: CYNTHIA features music by Karen Multer and book & lyrics by Steve Multer, a 2014 finalist for the Kleban Prize in Musical Theatre. Multer & Multer are 2011 Dramatist Guild Fellows and have been developing code name: CYNTHIA with Pallas Theatre Collective artistic leadership since June 2014. Since partnering with Pallas Theatre, code name: CYNTHIA has received developmental readings in Washington, DC and at Pallas Theatre's university partners -- Ball State University in Indiana and Point Park University Conservatory for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh, PA.

code name: CYNTHIA runs tonight, July 30-August 16, 2015 at the Anacostia Arts Center - 1231 Good Hope Rd. SE, Washington, DC 20020. Tickets are $25 General Admission and $15 for children under 12 years of age. Tickets are available for purchase online at pallastheatre.org/tickets or at the door.

Pallas Theatre Collective exists to showcase and highlight American voices and the multiplicity of their perspectives through theatre. We seek to identify, develop, and preserve new voices, especially those often unheard. We desire to be an incubator for talented and visionary artists, providing resources and a home for theatrical practitioners to share their voices in the Washington, D.C. area and around the United States. Pallas's mission includes two hallmarks: (1) to foster the continuation of the American musical theatre legacy, and (2) to assist in the growth of theatre artists as they share their own American stories. We, as an artistic collective, seek to reflect the diversity of American life and creativity on our stage.
