"Catch Me If You Can The Musical", Book by Terrence McNally; Music by Marc Shaiman; Lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman is now appearing Thursdays through Sundays until October 9, 2016at NextStop Theatre Company, in Herndon, Virginia.
The true life story of Frank Abagnale, Jr., that inspired a hit film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, is told live in flashy song and dance production numbers in the style of a vibrant 60's variety show special.
"NextStop is always seeking to push the limits of what is possible to produce inside the 114 seat warehouse black-box theatre we own in the suburbs outside of DC," said Director Evan Hoffmann, "Without a doubt, this incredibly up-beat and energetic musical raises the bar for the perception of what can be conceived and executed in such an intimate space."
The cast is led by Matthew Hirsh as Frank Abagnale Jr. and Russell Rinker as Agent Carl Hanratty. Mackenzie Newbury (Brenda Strong), Carolyn Burke (Paula Abagnale), Hannah Jennens, Ariana Kruszewski, Patricia Targete, Melrose Pyne, Corrine Holland, and Alexis Krey are featured as members of the "Frank Abagnale Jr. Dancers." The cast also includes: Doug Sanford (Frank Abagnale Sr.), Edward Nagel (Agent Dollar), Michael Reid (Agent Cod), Ruben Vellekoop (Mr. Strong/Agent Branton). The musical is accompanied by a live, nine-piece orchestra, led by Music Director Elisa Rosman.
