The sixth show of Mosaic Theater Company of DC's Third Season, Paper Dolls, has been officially extended through April 29. Written by Philip Himberg (the Artistic Director of The Sundance Institute Theatre Program) and directed by Broadway director Mark Brokaw, this vibrant and thought-provoking play with songs illuminates the world of five gay male Filipino nurses in Tel Aviv who care for elderly Orthodox and Chasidic men six days a week-and headline a drag show on their day off!
"We've been thrilled to have the cast and creative team of Paper Dolls at Mosaic over the past month, and we're even more thrilled to see that presales for this production are smashing all our previous box office records," notes Ari Roth, Mosaic's Founding Artistic Director. "It's a real testament to the resonance of the themes in this very unique story, and to the star power of our international cast and crew, that tickets are being bought at a rate we normally see only after opening and rave reviews!"
The six performances added to the run of Paper Dolls are: April 25 at 8 PM; April 26 at 8 PM; April 27 at 8 PM; April 28 at 3 PM and 8 PM; and April 29 at 3 PM.
In addition, due to inclement weather cancelling rehearsals in the week leading up to previews, the PWYC preview previously scheduled for March 29 has been rescheduled for March 30 at 8 PM. There will still be PWYC tickets available at the door, and patrons can exchange previously purchased tickets for March 29 by contacting Mar Cox, Patron Services Manager, at mar@mosaictheater.org. A limited number of PWYC tickets will also be available on Monday, April 2, so that patrons observing Passover on March 30 can take advantage of a PWYC discount.
