Molotov Theatre Group Launches Latest iScream iPhone/Android App

It's the Halloween season, and Molotov Theatre Group, America's second-oldest Grand Guignol theatre, has taken theatre fundraising to weird new heights with the latest version of its "iScream" smarphone app for the iPhone and Google Android devices.

The paid application, which costs one dollar ($.99 for the iPhone version), allows users to email signature Molotov Theatre company member screams and show phrases, or set a "booby trap" on their phone to activate a scream when the phone is moved.

The iScream application is Molotov's way of generating revenue and increasing its horror theatre audience one new fan at a time.

"As a horror- and suspense-focused theatre company, grants and endowments are hard to come by. We have to find novel ways to support our operations," said Molotov Co-Artistic Director Alex Zavistovich. "The iScream application fits our weird world view, and we hope it catches the attention of the kind of adventurous theatre-goer that makes up the Molotov fan base."
