The Kennedy Center presents the Young Vic Production of A View From the Bridge, the renowned drama by Arthur Miller. The show is directed by Belgian visionary Ivo van Hove, whose lauded production of Antigone was staged at the Eisenhower Theater in the fall of 2015.

The production makes its Washington, D.C. premiere at the Kennedy Center for a limited two-week run, from November 18 through December 3, 2016, in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. The press opening night is November 21 at 8 p.m.

This production of A View From the Bridge is produced by Center Theatre Group and will tour exclusively to the Kennedy Center following the Los Angeles engagement. In this dark and lustful story set in an Italian-American Brooklyn neighborhood in the 1950s, longshoreman Eddie Carbone is obsessed with his 17-year-old niece Catherine. When Catherine falls in love with a newly arrived immigrant, Eddie's jealousy erupts in a rage that consumes him, his family and his world.

The revival was first presented in London at the Young Vic Theatre in 2014, then transferred to the West End in 2015 and was awarded three Olivier Awards for Best Actor, Best Revival, and Best Director. The production opened on Broadway in November 2015 for a limited run and closed this past February. In 2016, the show won two Tony Awards for Best Revival and Best Direction.

The cast includes Frederick Weller as Eddie, Catherine Combs as Catherine, Danny Binstock, Alex Esola, Andrus Nichols, Howard W. Overshown, Dave Register, and Thomas Jay Ryan. The scenic and lighting design is by Jan Versweyveld, costumes are by An D'Huys and sound is by Tom Gibbons. The production stage manager is David S. Franklin.

A View From the Bridge runs November 18 through December 3, 2016 in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Performances are every evening at 8 p.m. Matinee performances will take place at 2 p.m. Tickets start at $45.
