As the nights are drawing in and Halloween is drawing in, who doesn't like a good, old- fashioned ghost story? The Keegan Theatre is presenting Stephen Mallatrat's adaptation of Susan Hill's classic chiller, The Woman in Black from October 31- November 30, 2013.
The Woman In Black is a terrifying trip through time into a tragic and ghostly world where the horrors of the supernatural combine with the power and intensity of Live Theatre to send shock waves through the audience with splendid thrills and chills. The formula delivers an evening of unremitting drama, transporting the audience into a terrifying and ghostly world. A lawyer engages a skeptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. As the two men reach further into the lawyers darkest memories, the borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh begins to creep.
Directed by Colin Smith and Mark A. Rhea, The Woman in Black features Keegan company members Rob Leembruggen and Matthew Keenan. The press opening is Tuesday, November 5th at 8:00pm. The Woman in Black runs through November 30.
This is Keegan Theatre's 17th season in Washington, DC. After purchasing the Church Street Theater earlier this year, the venue was renamed the Andrew Keegan Theatre.
