The Keegan Theatre will present David Lindsay-Abaire's Rabbit Hole, winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize, opening on June 28 at the Church Street Theater in Washington, DC.
Becca and Howie Corbett are an ordinary suburban couple whose calm existence is shattered by a terrible accident. Their world is turned upside down and they find themselves drifting perilously apart. Rabbit Hole charts one couple's journey from darkness to light with empathy and great imagination.
Playwright Lindsay-Abaire is respected for such quirky, freewheeling comedies as Good People, Fuddy Meers and Kimberley Akimbo, but his more serious Rabbit Hole is about a family recovering from the death of a child. The play received five Tony Award nominations, including Best Play.
Mark A. Rhea and Susan Marie Rhea play husband and wife in this beautifully crafted examination of sorrow and healing, sharing the stage together for the first time since A Streetcar Named Desire, in 2005. Keegan company member Kerri Rambow directs. Rabbit Hole also features Shayna Blass, Linda High and Patrick Joy and runs from June 28- July 21, 2013. The press opening is Tuesday, July 2 at 8:00pm.
The Keegan Theatre is in its 16th season and is the resident company at Church Street Theater in Dupont Circle. On May 3, 2013, Keegan signed a purchase agreement for the Church Street Theater, located at 1742 Church St NW in Washington, DC.
