World-renowned tenor Anthony Kearns of the double-platinum, PBS super-group, The Irish Tenors, will make a celebrity appearance and sing select songs at the DC's Dancing Stars Gala on November 10, 2018, it was officially announced.

This is the first-time Anthony Kearns, one of the world's finest tenors, will perform at the annual DC's Dancing Stars Gala -- an exciting fundraising extravaganza that mirrors the glitz and glamour of the hit ABC TV show, Dancing with the Stars. The Gala showcases local celebrities competing for the mirror ball trophy and $10,000 for the charity of the winner choice.

"We're pleased to have the sensational Anthony Kearns perform at this year's Gala. His incredible talent will add another layer of elegance to our wonderful line-up of judges, dancers, and special guests," said Maria Coakley David, the Gala's Co- founder and Co-Chair. The annual event has made gifts to area charities totaling over one million dollars in just four years.

Mr. Kearns said he is looking forward to being a part of the 5th DC's Dancing Stars Gala. "I'm excited to lend my voice to this beautiful evening of ballroom dancing, which will benefit so many worthy causes," said Kearns, who will be in the Washington, D.C. area for Veterans Day celebrations.

In addition to Kearns, celebrity guests will include Will Thomas, an Emmy-award-winning veteran news anchor, and Julie Donaldson, the NBC Sports Washington anchor and reporter, who will serve as Co-Hosts. The Celebrity judges will be Chelsie Hightower, a professional dancer and choreographer from Dancing with the Stars, Monte Durham, Fashion Director on TLC's Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta and Sean Spicer, former White House Press Secretary and Communications Director under President Donald J. Trump.

Mr. Kearns has performed in the world's most prestigious venues, ranging from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House - as well as Strathmore, Wolf Trap, and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the Washington, D.C. area. In addition to his work with the PBS Super-group, The Irish Tenors, Kearns frequently performs on television, with symphony orchestras, and in recital format. His powerful voice has led him to a successful operatic career, which include the lead tenor roles of "Edgardo" in Gaetano Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, of "Romeo" in the production of Romeo & Juliet: Then and Now as well as of "Don José" in the Dun Laoghaire/ Rathdown Glasthule Opera Company's production of Georges Bizet's Carmen. Kearns has also performed as "Don Ottavio," in Mozart's Don Giovanni, in Charles Gounod's Faust with Opera Naples, Opera Ireland and many others.

Kearns frequently lends his voice to charitable causes benefiting brain trauma victims, autism awareness, and U.S. military veterans and their families. One of the sponsors of D.C.'s Dancing Stars Gala is the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes, an organization dedicated to serving wounded veterans from the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq, based in Leesburg, Va. The primary focus of this highly-rated charity is to provide direct financial assistance to wounded veterans when they return stateside and must wait weeks or months until their benefits are adjudicated. In the meantime, they must pay the rent and put food on the table. The Coalition helps them bridge this gap. It manages programs to help veterans find viable careers in the private sector, cope with the extended impact of post-traumatic stress and meet with potential employers who are eager to hire veterans.

"I am thrilled to be a part of the DC's Dancing Stars Gala. This event raises the awareness of many important local charities that benefit our community and it does so in an extraordinarily social and exciting manner," said David Walker, the CEO of the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes.

Maria Coakley David said she welcomed the Coalition's support and looks forward to "an enchanted evening of music with Mr. Kearns and all the generous celebrity participants and dancers.

Mr. Kearns' appearance and all related details were arranged by Kirsten Fedewa & Associates, L.L.C.
