Hippodrome 2010-11 Season Gets a Television Preview, April 28

Tune in to ABC 2 Baltimore on Wednesday, April 28 for a sneak preview of the 2010-2011 Hippodrome Broadway Series in Baltimore.

This thirty minute presentation will feature the hit Broadway musical Jersey Boys which will play Feb. 2-27. The season also includes Cirque Dreams Illumination Oct. 5-17, Blue Man Group Nov. 2-7, the hit musical Rock of Ages Nov. 30-Dec. 5, the classic musical Les Miserables March 1-6, Shrek the Musical March 22-April 3 and the new revised West Side Story April 12-24.

Also on Wednesday evening on "Great Performances" on PBS is Hamlet with Patrick Stewart.

I'm happy to report that the only syndicated televison program about Broadway, "Theater Talk", has just begun airing on WHUT in Washington, DC on Sunday evenings from 10:30 to 11 p.m. with repeats on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. The latest edition included an interview with the New York Times theater correspondent, Patrick Healey and the founder of the Circle in the Square Theater Tedd Mann who discussed his new book "Journeys in the Night" about the history of the theater. The show is hosted by New York Post columnest Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins.

Next up on Wednesday, April 28 is Kristin Chenoweth singing a number from the revivial of Promises, Promises. April 29 will have the company from the revival of La Cage Aux Folles and finally on Friday, April 30 you can get a preview of the much-aniticpated dance musical by Twyla Tharp, Come Fly Away which features the work of Frank Sinatra
