HOLIDAY SING to Benefit Underserved Youth STEAM Programs at Kennedy Center ImageThis Saturday (December 9 at 6:00 pm), a cadre of this region's award winning jazz, gospel and classical artists will perform original holiday music at the Kennedy Center, arranged by award winning composer Tony Small, who has served as the Boys & Girls Club's 1st Regional Artistic Director for 10 years.

In 2017, Tony's pilot Teen Arts Program (TAP) was selected as one of the nation's top 50 arts by the President's Arts & Humanities Committee. The committee featured his personal program statement:

"I wanted underserved youth to be afforded the same world-class arts training programs that I provided for my own daughter -- who is a Juilliard graduate. Thus I founded TAP (Tween/Teen Arts Program)!" - Tony Small

The concert will debut DC's own Grammy nominated Victor Provost, Stellar Gospel award winning Maurette Brown-Clark, the dynamic duo of Tom Thomas Nichols & Dan Chadburn, Billboard charting Chelsey Green, and Solomia Gorokhivska & Andrei Pidkivka (featured on Lord of the Rings soundtrack) - all accompanied by the area's finest musicians and chamber orchestra.

The program will also feature performances by the Baltimore School of Arts (BSA) middle school TWIGS choral program also under the direction of Tony Small. BSA is one of the nation's top 5 performing arts High Schools.

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington (BGCGW) was founded with a humanitarian mission of... "helping boys and girls of all backgrounds, especially those who need us most, build confidence, develop character and acquire the skills needed to become productive, civic-minded, responsible adults." BGCGW is one of the largest major metro affiliates of the leading non-profit out of school time provider in the US. Forbes selected Boys & Girls Clubs as its top "5 All Star Charities" in 2012.
