The Kennedy Center and the company of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder today announced that tickets will go on sale to the public beginning at 3 p.m. for the newly added performance on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 12 p.m.
"I am delighted that we are able to make this happen," explains Kennedy Center President, Deborah F. Rutter. "Thanks to incredible teamwork across the board, the D.C. area has one more performance of Gentleman's Guide to enjoy."
"It was killing us having to cancel performances because of all the snow, and it was, well, murder on our company morale. So we are really glad that we can offer this extra performance for at least some of the ticketholders of those cancelled shows," said producer Joey Parnes. "We couldn't have pulled this off without the tremendous collaboration of the Kennedy Center, our cast and crew, our respective unions, and even the presenter at our next tour stop: Des Moines. The D.C. audiences have been nothing short of amazing, and everyone is thrilled at the chance to get one more show on the schedule before we get back on the road."
Tickets to this additional performance were first made available on January 27 to patrons whose performances were cancelled due to the recent snow storm. Availability is limited. Tickets can be purchased online, in-person at the Kennedy Center box office, or by calling (202) 467-4600 or (800) 444-1324.

Gentleman's Guide tells the story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession, by any means necessary. All the while, he's got to juggle his mistress (she's after more than just love), his fiancée (she's his cousin but who's keeping track?), and the constant threat of landing behind bars! Of course, it will all be worth it if he can slay his way to his inheritance... and be done in time for tea.
Gentleman's Guide opened at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre to overwhelming critical acclaim in November 2013. The production received ten 2014 Tony Award nominations, eventually winning four awards: Best Musical, Direction of a Musical, Book of a Musical, and Best Costume Design. In addition, it won the Best Musical prizes from the Drama League, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle, and received a 2015 Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Show Album.
The design team includes Alexander Dodge (Scenic Design), Linda Cho (Costume Design), Philip S. Rosenberg (Lighting Design), Dan Moses Schreier (Sound Design), Aaron Rhyne (Projections Design), Charles LaPointe (Wig Design), and Brian Strumwasser (Make-Up Design). Orchestrations are by Jonathan Tunick and Vocal Arrangements are by Dianne Adams McDowell and Steven Lutvak. Paul Staroba serves as Music Supervisor, and Larry Goldberg serves as Music Director.
