In the wake of a violent tragedy at a local community college, a single mother attempts to reconnect with her withdrawn son. But strange forces keep interfering: the new family dog has three heads, an angry mob has gathered outside, and a chilling figure has occupied the refrigerator...

"Discovering Steve Yockey's work over the past two years has been a real pleasure." says Michael Dove. "I am just thrilled that Forum gets to introduce his writing to DC audiences. As a director, his style perfectly combines the two aspects of a play that I value most: relevance and imaginative theatricality. His take on social issues and American life is extremely unique. Pluto talks about a subject that we, as a nation, have a very hard time talking about and does so beautifully."

As part of a National New Play Network rolling world premiere, Forum Theatre is one of four theatres across the country collaborating to bring Pluto to life. Pluto will be produced by Know Theatre in Cincinnati, Ohio in January 2014 and by Orlando Shakespeare Theatre in Orlando, Florida in March of 2014. Actors Express in Atlanta, Georgia produced the production in November of 2013. The rolling world premiere ensures that a play will live beyond a single production, bringing important new work to multiple regions in one season and supporting playwrights directly. "We are thrilled that Forum Theatre is an Associate Member of NNPN, and that they're one of four theaters across the country participating in the Rolling World Premiere of PLUTO," says Jojo Ruf of NNPN. "Steve has written a beautifully haunting, surprisingly funny, and incredibly timely piece that needs to be not only seen but discussed and understood by audiences everywhere. It is adventurous and relevant and challenging - a Forum Theatre play through and through."
