FANCY NANCY'S SPLENDIFEROUS CHRISTMAS Comes to Adventure Theatre

Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC), recent recipient of a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Play or Musical Adaptation, puts on its fanciest shoes and its "sparkliest" designs for, Fancy Nancy's Splendiferous Christmas, based on the book by Jane O'Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser that spent over 100 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller List. Directed by Stevie Zimmerman, Oxford University and University of Leeds graduate and Associate Professor of Theatre at the Hartt School of the University of Hartford, this tres chic musical is recommended for all ages and begins performances on November 16, 2018. What could be fancier than Christmas? Presents with elegant wrapping paper, festive decorations, Christmas cookies with sprinkles-and who could forget the tree? After all, there is no such thing as too much tinsel. Oohlala! This year, Nancy is especially excited. After selling some of her old gowns and accessories, Nancy has enough money to buy a brand-new sparkly tree topper. She can't wait to decorate the Christmas tree. But when things don't turn out the way Nancy planned, will Christmas still be splendiferous?

Director Stevie Zimmerman says of the production, "I'm very excited to work with the superbly talented team and our amazing cast for Fancy Nancy's Splendiferous Christmas. The show is full of energy, dance, song and most importantly the Christmas spirit! I'm particularly happy to bring such a fun, strong, female character to centre stage, a young girl who wants everything to be perfect but who has to learn that sometimes it's even better to improvise and create things with love for friends and family, especially during the holidays. I hope all the children who come to see Nancy's adventure, and their families, will love her as much as we do."

Fancy Nancy's Splendiferous Christmas is recommended for all ages. Tickets are $25 each with Flexpass, group, and field trip rates available.
