It's that time of year again! The DC Metro Chapter of the Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc. presents their annual summer soiree "Cocktails@Sunset" on Thursday, August 7th from 6 to 10 p.m. at Baby Wale (1124 9th St. NW across from the Convention Center).
100% of donations from this event will be used to purchase back-to-school supplies for families in need in D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Last year their chapter was able to provide assistance to more than 100 area children and their families. When guests attend they directly support efforts and provide much needed school supplies during this expensive time of year for disadvantaged families.
With DJ Top Choice on the decks guests will also enjoy passed appetizers; cash bar; and the full menu at one of DC's chicest restaurants hailed by Washingtonian as a 100 Best.
Past notable guests have included the CW Network's Paul Wharton, Bravo TV's "DC Real Housewife" Stacie Turner, Jazz Harmonist Fredrick Yonnet, former "Apprentice" finalist Omarosa Manigault, former NFL players including John Booty and Kenny Jenkins, Members of the DC City Council, Obama Administration Officials, Hill Staff and local entrepreneurs and socialites.
TICKETS: are $25 (before July 31st) HERE and will go up to $35 after that date. Or you can offer more and take the title of "Teacher's Pet" with a $100 donation to help the organization support more families.
ABOUT: The Twelve Days of Christmas, Inc. is a national 501(c)(3) organization, committed to sharing our blessings with others through collective effort, charitable activities, and community involvement. The organization was founded in 1999 when 12 generous friends decided to ring in the new millennium by sharing their many blessings with underprivileged families. The co-founders, a mother-daughter team, Gayla Gardner and Donya Gardner Barrett, invited some of their close friends to join them in the gift of giving. Since then, the organization has expanded to chapters in Houston and Beaumont, TX; Chicago, IL; Oakland, CA; New York City and the Washington, DC Metro Chapter. The DC Metro Chapter "adopts" needy families in DC, Maryland and Virginia and provides them with back to school necessities and fulfills their Christmas wish lists. The DC Metro Chapter is made up of 36 professional African-American women dedicated to service and supporting the community.
