Casting Announced For WAITRESS Coming To D.C.'s National Theatre ImageCasting has been announced for the upcoming Washington, D.C. premiere of the irresistible Broadway musical hit WAITRESS, which comes to the National Theatre for a 3-week limited engagement from May 15 thru June 3, 2018.

Tickets may be purchased at TheNationalDC.com, in person at the National Theatre box office (Monday thru Friday from Noon to 6pm), or by calling 800-514-3849. The National Theatre is located at 1321 Pennsylvania Ave. NW in downtown Washington, D.C.

Brought to life by a groundbreaking all-female creative team, WAITRESS features original music and lyrics by 6-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles ("Brave," "Love Song"), a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson (the film "I Am Sam"), choreography by Lorin Latarro (Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Waiting for Godot) and direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Hair, Pippin, Finding Neverland).

Inspired by Adrienne Shelly's beloved film, WAITRESS tells the story of Jenna - a waitress and expert pie maker - who dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town's new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes for happiness. But Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life.

The cast is led by Desi Oakley (Jenna), Charity Angél Dawson (Becky), Lenne Klingaman (Dawn), Bryan Fenkart (Dr. Pomatter), Nick Bailey (Earl), Larry Marshall (Joe), Ryan G. Dunkin (Cal) and Jeremy Morse (Ogie). The cast also includes Skyler Adams, Chante Carmel, Patrick Dunn, Jim Hogan, David Hughey, Donterrio Johnson, Kyra Kennedy, Emily Koch, Maiesha McQueen, Gerianne Pérez, and Grace Stockdale.

"It's an empowering musical of the highest order!" raves the Chicago Tribune. "WAITRESS is a little slice of heaven!" says Entertainment Weekly and "a monumental contribution to Broadway!" according to Marie Claire.

Don't miss this uplifting musical celebrating friendship, motherhood, and the magic of a well-made pie.
