The Contest Questions:

Since the Altar Boyz are a Boy Band, these questions all have to do with boy band members and their famous relatives that have appeared on and off Broadway.  Good luck!

  1. N'SYNC's Joey Fatone has appeared on Broadway twice!  In this show, he replaced Hunter Foster as Seymour and battled a hungry plant.  What is the title of this show?
  2. Joey Fatone also played in this musical about Bohemians in Alphabet City.  Name this Pulitzer Prize-winning musical.
  3. A recent winner on Dancing with the Stars, this former member of the boy band 98 Degrees played Mark, the same role in the same musical as Joey Fatone.  Who is this singer/dancer/actor?
  4. This is the brother of the guy in number 3, and also a former member of 98 Degrees.  He was married to Jessica Simpson.  Who is he?
  5. Jessica Simpson, ex-wife to the guy in number 4, is the sister of Ashlee Simpson, who recently made her stage debut (in London) in this musical.  Name the show and the part she plays.
  6. This Backstreet Boy starred in the same musical as Ashlee Simpson (though on Broadway).  What is his name, and what part did he play?
  7. This youngest member of New Kids on the Block starred in the movie version of the longest running musical in the world*, which is currently playing again off-Broadway.  What is the show?
  8. The same guy also played Fiyero in Wicked.  What is his name?
  9. And the same guy played the role that is autobiographical of the writer of Tick…Tick…Boom! and the show in numbers 2 & 3.  Who is that writer?
  10. At the time they were popular, this group would probably not be called a boy band, but a very talented group of actors playing these boys are packing them in every night in Jersey Boys.  What is the name of the group portrayed in that Tony Winner for Best Musical?

* - Despite the advertisements, Les Miserables is not the longest running musical in the world.  In order to get that title, Les Miz will need to run more than 20 more years without closing in London.  Longest running?  Not by a long shot.  The show in question ran more than 2.5 times longer than original Broadway production of Les Miz, with 17,162 performances.  The original Broadway Les Miz ran a respectable 6,680 performances.
