More than 40 juried jewelry designers and artisans will offer a wide variety of quality, hand-crafted jewelry at the McLean Community Center's 4th Annual McLean Jewelry Showcase. The show will be held from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5.
New artists participating in this year's show include Branch York Design of Midlothian Va. (www.branch-york-design.com). Working with a variety of materials, these two artisans combine unusual textures and techniques to create sophisticated wearable art. The Silver Grouper (www.thesilvergrouper.com), is the name of Virginia-based artist Anita Whitney, who works with diverse mediums and specializes in gold, silver and platinum jewelry. Maryland-based jewelry designer Stacy Krantz, owner of In Bloom Jewelry (http://inbloomjewelry.myshopify.com), uses her experiences in Gabon and New Mexico and her sensitivity to the natural world to inspire the shape, line, form and function of her jewelry designs. Self-taught jeweler Rona Fisher (www.ronafisher.com) has been a juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen since 1993. Her collection includes rings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, and earrings crafted in sterling silver and 14-karat gold combinations, and in all gold.Admission is $3 per person.
