Escape to the forest of Arden with a romantic and immersive production of As You Like It. Four charming couples swoon, banter, argue, and fall deeply in love against the background of an original, modern score. This production reunites the team behind our entertaining, touching, and bittersweet production of A Midsummer Night's Dream: director Jessica Aimone and music director and composer Zach Roberts. Join Brave Spirits Theatre for the wedding of the year!
Music was an important part of the early modern theatre experience. Songs were often featured in performance, whether in the play itself, during acts breaks, or even following the show. Following that tradition, this production contains new music that expands Shakespeare's beloved characters.
As an artistic associate of BST, Jessica Aimone has previously directed A Midsummer Night's Dream and performed in Romeo and Juliet and The Bloody Banquet. Zach Roberts is BST's resident music director and has previously worked on A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Two Noble Kinsmen, The Maid's Tragedy, Antony and Cleopatra, and The Changeling.
The cast of As You Like It includes Charlie Cook, Amber A. Gibson, Jared H. Graham, Brendan Edward Kennedy, Mackenzie Larsen, Farrell Parker, Ben Peter, Rebecca Speas, Daniel G. Westbrook, and artistic associates Ian Blackwell Rogers and Anderson Wells.
As You Like It's production team includes Megan Behm (intimacy coordinator), Emily MacLeod (dramaturg), Sam Rollin (stage manager), Adalia Tonneyck (costume designer, and BST artistic associates Jason Aufdem-Brinke (lighting designer), Casey Kaleba (fight director), Briana Manente (makeup designer), and Anderson Wells (assistant director).
