Theatregoers can now hear online audio previews from many of the 8 dozen shows that will be presented as part of Washington, DC's inaugural Capital Fringe Festival.
The Capital Fringe Festival runs from July 20th - 30th. "Fringe-goers will need help making their choices and what better way to choose than by hearing from the artists themselves? Washington DC's theatre website www.dctheatrereviews.com kicks off its Capital Fringe coverage today with 3 - 5 minute audio promos from many of the Fringe artists coming to town. During the Fringe, the website will be adding daily schedules, news and reviews," state press notes.
"Podcast interviews are one of our website's most popular features. I'm co-producing a show myself at the Capital Fringe (Mamas, Don't Let Your Cowboys Grow Up to Be Actors) and was approving the layout for printed postcards and thought - what better? Talking postcards," explained Marketing Manager Lorraine Treanor.
DC Theater Reviews invited Capital Fringe artists to record 3 to 5 minute audio promos. For two days, the coffee bar at The Warehouse Theatre was buzzing with actors rehearsing last minute changes to their scripts while waiting for their recording session in the upstairs Screening Room. Out of town artists sent in their own recordings, and the results have been uploaded to a special Capital Fringe section on the website.
