Arts on the Horizon, an interactive theatre for children ages zero to six, is excited to announce its 2016 -2017 season. As the first theatre company in the United States to stage completely non-verbal performances for young audiences, Arts on the Horizon shows are performed solely with sound, movement and live music to engage children at any stage of language development and also children whose first language may not be English.
"Arts on the Horizon shows are purposely written and performed to benefit young audiences at a critical stage of their development through an interactive and inclusive environment," says founder and producing artistic director, Michelle Kozlak. "Each show blends a rich variety of sounds, visual cues and touchpoints so that children at any stage of development can begin a hands-on exploration and love of theatre from the very start."

Nutt and Bolt are robot rivals. They spend their days using the random junkyard objects around them in games of skill and sound while rallying the young Audience members for support. As the competition builds to a frenzied pinnacle, Nutt and Bolt realize that by working together, they can make something even more wonderful than they could on their own. Through props, costumes, and sets created entirely out of upcycled or recycled objects, Nutt and Bolt, reinforces a child's transformative power of imagination and their own ability to make ordinary objects into something extraordinary. Local Tour: May 2017
Back by popular demand, Arts on the Horizon is proud to remount a local tour of this show inspired by the America on the Move exhibit at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Two museum employees are tasked with keeping the ball rolling between "Point A" and "Point B" without letting it travel the same way twice. As the two co-workers - one a careful scientist, the other an athletic risk-taker - begin to solve the puzzle together, they explore different modes of transportation in new, wonderful, and exciting ways. Best for children ages 2 - 5 and their families.
ABOUT ARTS ON THE HORIZONIn addition to our performances, we also offer education programs, which provide targeted exploration of themes and ideas in order to help children enhance their language development, socialization, and fine and gross motor skills; all within a meaningful, nurturing environment where children can develop their sense of self and increase their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
