Arts on the Horizon, a non-verbal theatre for children ages 0 to 6, is excited to present a new commission by a local DC area playwright. Beep Beep! will run from March 7th - 23rd, 2019 at The Lab at Convergence in Alexandria, Virginia.

Beep Beep!, written and directed by, Rex Daugherty, Solas Nua Artistic Director and writer and director of Arts on the Horizon's Snow Day, was created specifically for an audience of children ages 2 to 5 and their families.

On a warm spring day, the friendly tune of the ice cream truck might be just what you need. But when one particular ice cream truck starts to fall apart, the drivers have to fix it before everything starts to melt! Will our friends find a way out of this sticky situation? This highly physical comedy features live percussion music and plenty of zany shenanigans.

Two talented local performers, Julia Klavans (Drumming with Dishes) and Dallas Tolentino (Outside the Lines) will return to Arts on the Horizon. Julia has performed in plays and musicals throughout the region, with companies such as Olney Theatre Center and Constellation Theatre Company, and toured nationally with the Kennedy Center's Elephant & Piggie's "We are in a Play!" Dallas is a company member with Synetic Theater, where he has performed in over 20 shows, and was recently seen in the Kennedy Center's production of How to Catch a Star.

Beep Beep! marks Rex Daugherty's second Arts on the Horizon creation, having written, directed and then remounted audience favorite, Snow Day, three times since 2014. A skilled performer in his own right, Rex brings his love of physical hijinks to his latest show for the very young. He will be joined by Julie Cray Leong (Catholic University; Shakespeare Theatre Company's Academy for Classical Acting) as costume designer, and Patti Kalil (Second City; Pointless Theatre; Synetic Theater) designing set and props.

Tickets are $10 for children and adults and can be purchased online at http://www.artsonthehorizon.org or at the door on the day of the performance.
