Career Fair Friday, October 19, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Mead Center (1101 Sixth St., SW). Throughout the past five years, Arena Stage has partnered with more than 100 participating organizations and served a combined total of nearly 8,000 community members by hosting regular career fairs.

"The first job fair we hosted had lines around the block and while now the market is much improved, we remain committed to opening our doors to the community and connecting employers with employees," says Dobie. "I feel it's an important aspect of Arena's core values, to be part of the community in this way and be an active participant in helping people make better lives for themselves and their families."

"As chair of the Council's Committee on Labor and Workforce Development, I remain focused on how we build a strong jobs pipeline that serves our residents and businesses alike, matching companies, non-profits and government agencies with D.C. residents in living wage careers," adds Silverman. "I'm thrilled to partner again with Arena Stage, Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen and At-Large Councilmember Robert White to host this event and connect our employers with qualified D.C. residents who are eager to work."

"I am excited to partner with Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen and At-Large Councilmember Elissa Silverman on the 12th semi-annual Career Fair," White remarks. "This is a great opportunity for District residents seeking employment to meet with dozens of employers who are conducting interviews and ready to hire on the spot."

"When we get job seekers and employers in the same room, good things happen for our residents and our businesses," says Allen. "It's been my honor to host the Ward 6 Job Fair with Arena Stage, along with my at-large colleagues Councilmember Elissa Silverman and Councilmember Robert White, as a way to help Ward 6 residents get connected to employers with job openings. Anytime someone lands an interview or a job on the spot, we ring a bell to share the hope and success. In my experience from running this job fair for many years, that bell will be ringing often."
