Ally Theatre Company presents the final production of their inaugural season with Clover, a World Premiere written by Laura Rocklyn and Ty Hallmark and playing at Caos on F September 13-October 28 2017.
Upon arriving to D.C. in 1877, Clover dives into the political and social scene; delighting salons and drawing rooms with her affability and witty insights into Washington life. However, while coping with her beloved father's death and the possible philandering of her husband, the darker forces that brew through her family line finally catch Clover in their grasp.
"Exploring Clover's story and photography gives us an opportunity to talk about women and mental health, our vocabulary for it, the stigma that remains around it and the way in which it has been treated in this country, not to mention the unique challenges artists living and working in Washington D.C. have to contend with - not just now, but in Clover's era as well", says Ally's Artistic Director and Co-Writer, Ty Hallmark.

Founded in 2016, Ally Theatre Company produces theatre designed to engage audiences through acknowledging and confronting systemic oppression in America.
We aim to join the vital conversations-sparked by generations of thinkers, writers, performers, and activists who paved the way before us-that continue each and every day, by:
- Placing underrepresented populations at the front and center of our narratives and our organization
- Forming alliances with individuals and organizations who share a similar mission
- Producing new theatrical works making their world, national, or local premieres
- Tackling existing theatrical works that forward the conversation
In doing so, we hope to play a small part in creating the space and opportunity needed to form new traditions and conversations, while steadily inching toward the eradication of systemic violence, prejudice, and racism in our society.
At Ally, we're more than a theatre company-we're a movement. Ally Theatre Company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, registered as Doorway Arts Ensemble (DBA Ally Theatre Company).
