Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) opens its Professional 2012-2013 61st Season with the world premiere of the Theatre for Young Audiences production of Big, The Musical based on the hit movie 'Big,' written by Gary Ross & Anne Spielberg, produced by Twentieth Century Fox. Directed and adapted for Theatres for Young Audiences by Michael J. Bobbitt and also adapted by Jeff Frank of First Stage, Big, The Musical-TYA stars Gregory Maheu (The Kennedy Center's Ragtime and Ford's 1776) and Broadway's Kate Fisher with four-time Helen HayesAward nominee Janine Gulisano in addition to D.C. area's best youth talent. The 1987 hit movie bursts onstage in this vibrant, funny and touching musical. When frustrated adolescent Josh Baskin wishes he were 'big' and wakes up the next morning as a 30-year-old man, he discovers there's much more to being an adult than he bargained for- and learns we must all grow up at our own pace, in our own time. See this new version - complete with Zoltar and floor piano- that spotlights the touching friendship of Josh and Billy as they learn what it's really like to be 'big.'
