THE MAIDS by Jean Genet plays at American Players Theatre until October 5 and features Rebecca Hurd, Andrea San Miguel, and Melisa Pereyra. The show is loosely based off the true story of Christine and Lea Pappin, sisters and servants who murdered their employer in France in 1933. THE MAIDS follows sisters and servants Claire and Solange, trapped in a life they didn't ask for. They pass the time by impersonating their employer, Madame, though their games become more sinister as the sisters dig deeper within their roles in this fantasy, as well as their roles in their own lives.
