Opening February 8 (and continuing through February 23) at ACCC, the stage musical stars Austin Jeffrey Smith, Lindsey Mapes Duggin and Daxton Patrick in the film roles immortalized by Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'Connor in the award-winning 1952 film version.
Spike Dolomite Ward, Executive Director of Theatre West, announced the addition of Kiki Ebsen's theatrical tribute to her father, entertainer Buddy Ebsen, is set for three nights this fall, October 12-14, 2018. S.E. Feinberg will direct the touching tribute "TO DAD WITH LOVE: A TRIBUTE TO BUDDY EBSEN,"and is co-produced by Kiki Ebsen, her brother, Dustin Ebsen, and associate producer Linda L. Rand. Ward noted that Today's performance is a fund-raiser for nonprofit Theatre West, the internationally acclaimed oldest continually operating theatre company in Los Angeles. As its main stage finale in this Diamond Jubilee season, Maine State Music Theatre chose to present the stage version of one of the most beloved musicals of all time, Singin' in the Rain. MSMT's staging, directed/choreographed by Marc Robin, sparkles with the effervescence of fine champagne, bubbles with energy and originality, exudes sunshine and joy, and offers its audiences an exhilarating, entirely magical entertainment experience.
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts.
