The exhibit will open on March 14, when Bob Santelli, Founding Executive Director of the GRAMMY Museum and the exhibit's curator, will discuss the history of music in baseball with Barry Zito at the Museum's Clive Davis Theater as part of the Museum's Public Programs. The exhibit will run through baseball season until fall 2019.
Continuing its ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating timeless recordings, the Recording Academy has announced the newest inductions to its distinguished GRAMMY Hall Of Fame®. The latest additions recognize a diverse range of both singles and album recordings at least 25 years old that exhibit qualitative or historical significance. Each year recordings are reviewed by a special member committee comprised of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts, with final approval by the Recording Academy's National Board of Trustees. With 25 new titles, the Hall, now in its 46th year, currently totals 1,088 recordings and is on display at The GRAMMY Museum.
Providing a rally call for national pride and unity for the 100th anniversary celebration of Veterans Day, pianist Peggy Duquesnel and organist Andre Mayeux will release “Keys to Glory” on November 9, a collection of songs of America, patriotic anthems, hymns, folk songs and three originals penned by the keyboardists. Included in the 17-track set produced by the pair is a rousing duet of “God Bless America,” to mark the centennial anniversary of the revered Irving Berlin treasure.
