Kinky Boots on Video - 2021

Cyndi Lauper, who wrote the music and lyrics for the musical Kinky Boots, has revealed that the musical may be headed for the big screen!

Courtney Bowman will star as Lauren in the brand-new Made at Curve production of the Olivier, Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical KINKY BOOTS The Musical, which will tour the UK and Ireland from 17 January 2025.

It’s been nine years since Kinky Boots first found its footing on British shores, with a West End run that lasted for three years. Dorothy won’t be the only one donning sparkly red heels this season! The Tony-winning Best musical struts into its MTWichita debut, telling the heartwarming, hilarious, and true story of a faltering shoe factory that saved itself from bankruptcy by embracing a fabulous new clientele. The production will open Wednesday, July 6th and run until Sunday, July 10th.

KINKY BOOTS presented by the Arts Club in Vancouver, will play at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage from June 9th to July 31st. This absolute gem of a show is definitely Arts Club’s best production yet.

After being dark for two years, Broadway at Music Circus opened its 2022 season with Kinky Boots, the glittery hit from Broadway legend Harvey Fierstein and 80s icon Cyndi Lauper.  After opening on Broadway in 2013, it surprised everyone by surpassing its competition and securing a season-high 13 Tony Award nominations and 6 wins.  In addition to Best Musical, Kinky Boots won the Tony for Best Original Score, making Lauper the first woman to win alone in that category-in her first foray into Broadway composing.
