Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning tragedy unsparingly presents the story of two brothers in love with the same girl. The tale unfolds with the girl's rejection of one brother and marriage to the other, setting the stage for discontent and disillusionment. Originally produced on Broadway in 1920, O'Neill's first full-length play captures the powerful, perilous emotional currents swirling below the surface of everyday life.

New original musicals are a rare commodity in Norway. Especially musicals not based on books, movies, TV series and other aspects of popular culture. So when I learned that Dorina Marie Iversen and Tonga Productions had decided to develop a new musical about people who either worked with or were affected by the whaling industry in Sandefjord, I was fascinated by the prospect. Especially when they have chosen to invest in both established creative people and new talents in all aspects of the production. The result is a densely packed, character-driven musical that has both a good libretto and a wonderfully melodious score. The work is both touching and thought-provoking, and shows how the essence of musical theater is alive and well on Norwegian shores.

What did our critic think of THE SHOEMAKERS at Teatr Polski In Wroclaw? Witkacy is not easy to swallow. He led a colorful life full of dramas of various intensities. He was a painter, a writer, a soldier, a philosopher, and way more. He loved to shock and burn out from dullness and confusing basic matters. He had a vision, he was implacable. His last play, The Shoemakers is political and grotesque. Predicts the collapse of civilization. For many, this work is the cruelest and most provocative in the writer's entire work. Today his piece is frightfully contemporary.
