The Opera Company of Middlebury will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a benefit recital featuring YongHoon Lee, Stephanie Weiss, Bevin Hill and Branch Fields on Saturday, August 17, at 7:00 p.m.
The concert will be held at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater and will be followed by a dinner with the performers at The Swift House Inn. Reservations for the dinner must be made by August 9th.
Tenor YongHoon Lee, who sang in OCM's first two productions, has gone on to sing leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera (Don Jose and Don Carlos), Covent Garden (Cavaradossi), La Scala (Turiddu), Bologna (Calàf) and Vienna (Don Carlos).
Stephanie Weiss, who sang the role of Michele in the OCM production of Carmen, lives in Berlin where she is under contract to the Deutsch Oper. Stephanie is also a highly respected voice teacher. Since performing with OCM in The Pearl Fishers and La Rondine Bevin Hill's work has included the New York City Lyric Opera, Opera Saratoga, and Arizona Opera. Branch Fields, who sang in last year's production of Thais, has performed with the New York City Opera, Lincoln Center Theater, and the Boston Lyric Opera. Ted Taylor, a member of the faculty at Mannes School of Music, New York City, will be the pianist.
