The temperature is low, the days are short and the snow is grey, but Middlebury's Town Hall Theater is all a-giggle. On February 28 at 7:00 pm, audiences can beat the winter doldrums with an evening of comedy in the cozy THT Cabaret.

Nathan Hartswick, Seven Days' "Best Vermont Stand-up Comedian" of 2012; Natalie Miller, experienced actor and comedienne; and newcomer, Addison County's Jim Inglis, will offer a show that is witty, intelligent, and accessible to ages 18 to 88.

Hartswick, host of the evening, is a cofounder of Vermont Comedy Club--the state's first and only comedy booking agency, devoted to promoting local comics--and SparkArts, a comedy performing arts education space modeled on the renowned Second City.

"We love performing in Central Vermont," says Hartswick. "Burlington's comedy scene has exploded in the last several years, which is fantastic. But as a native Vermonter I really enjoy taking it on the road, bringing comedy to the rest of the state. It's been a long winter so far and we could all use a laugh."

The show is part of the Town Hall Theater Cabaret series, which takes place in the intimate Byers Studio on the theater's lower level. A cash bar and light snacks will be available. Tickets are only $10, and may be purchased at 802 382-9222, www.townhalltheater.org, at the THT Box Office (Mon-Sat, noon-5 pm) or at the door.
