The Turningpoint Center of Addison County is pleased to announce their first annual "Early Winter Soirée" to be held at the Town Hall Theater in Middlebury at 7:00pm on December 3rd.
The Turningpoint Center is a non-profit recovery center for people and families concerned with issues pertaining to the recovery from alcohol and drug abuse. The Center offers a safe, friendly, fun, and substance free environment where all people in recovery, their families, and friends can go to for socializing, mentoring, education, and advocacy.
The Soiree begins with a five course gourmet game dinner featuring selections ranging from a Salad of Citrus Enhanced Smoked Trout and Local Apples atop local Mesclun Greens, to Ragoût of Wild Boar and Locally Harvested Wild Mushrooms, presented over truffle infused spaetzle, a delicious Tarte Tatin, with French Vanilla Ice Cream will complete our meal. Local favorite Fred Barnes will provide dinner music.
After dinner, Addison County's own Womensing will entertain. Womensing is an a cappella group of six voices performing songs from around the world. It draws its repertoire from the musical heritage of its own members: French Canadian, Chinese, Italian and American, as well as from different parts of the world. In presenting this global repertoire, Womensing seeks to invoke universal themes of community, love, nature, and freedom. With harmonies that range from simple to layered, Womensing draws in audiences of all ages to travel the globe in its vocal journey.
After a great meal and relaxing entertainment, the evening continues with DJ Dizzle spinning the platters for dancing until the wee hours.
Tickets, only $25.00 per person (or a mere $5.00 if you come only for DJ Dizzle) are available through the Town Hall Theater Box Office by calling 802 382-9222, on-line at www.townhalltheater.org or in person Monday-Saturday from noon to 5:00 pm.
