Stealing from Work is back with a full show of brand-new sketch comedy written by Angie Albeck and Marianne DiMascio. This year's show, Sketch Victims Unit, plays Town Hall Theater in Middlebury on March 8 at 7pm.
"We had Stealing from Work here last year, and they were delightful, so we had to have them back with their new show," says Operations Manager Haley Rice. "If you like shows like Saturday Night Live, Portlandia or Key and Peele, this is the perfect show for you. What we love about Stealing from Work is that there's a good bit of social satire in their work and many of the sketches are Vermont-centric, making them even funnier."
Join actors Chris Caswell, Marianne DiMascio, Amy Halpin Riley, Alex Hudson, Jory Raphael, and Geeda Searfoorce for a fast-paced evening of lunacy and lampoonery. Directed by Seth Jarvis, the 6 actors deftly transform into 60 extraordinary characters, alternately spoofing contemporary culture and the political issues of the past and present. With sound design by Jess Wilson, Stealing from Work's production has 193 sound and video cues. Stealing from Work takes on familiar and new topics, all with a local flavor. Please note that this is immature humor for mature audiences only. March 8 at 7pm. Tickets are $15 plus fees and may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, by calling 802-382-9222, at the THT box office Mon - Sat noon - 5pm, or at the door 1hr before show time. The Town Hall Theater is located at 68 S. Pleasant St. Middlebury, Vermont.
Albeck and DiMascio founded Stealing from Work in 2011. Reactions from previous productions included, "I loved how you made me laugh and cringe at the same time!" "The writing is very witty, incisive and wonderful," "Sexy, crude, and refined," and "Wow. Wow. Wow. Funny, offensive and irreverent - it doesn't get better than that!"
