Sandglass Theater is hosting the New Visions Puppetry Series, featuring brand new works by emerging artists. New Visions presents innovative and adventurous new works from a younger generation of puppeteers. Sandglass Theater is excited to be providing a forum for these up and coming performers. Curated and co-presented by Jana Zeller, the New Visions Seriespromises to leave audiences intrigued by the rawness of these freshly hatched eggs.

Coming up on September 27, at 8pm and September 29th at 4pm, French company Sens Équivoc', will kick off the series with La Causeuse (The Loveseat.) This physical theater piece, performed by Olivia Faye Lathuillière, paints vividly a world of intrigue entirely without words. It captivates the audience with its darkly comic and poetic visual language and pulls them into the unfolding of a narrative reminiscent of David Lynch.

With nothing more than her body, a single puppet head, and a lonely love seat, Olivia evokes a world where anything seems possible. Immersed in her solitude, a woman delivers us through a stunning interior dialogue. As she revisits fragments from a sordid romance, wandering hands seduce and frolic.

Coming up in the New Visions Series:

October 11-12
Company of Strangers:
Of Bread and Paper

November 15-16
Adelka Polak: Branches

November 22-23
Leila Ghaznavi: Beyond the Light
