She's the feisty, no-nonsense blonde at the heart of the hilarious comedy Born Yesterday, which opens the Northern Stage season on October 3.  Dragged to Washington, DC by her paramour, a thuggish junk dealer trying to grease the wheels of Congress, she turns the tables on him in epic fashion.  The result is a whirlwind romance, a brawl or two, and lots and lots of laughs.

Born Yesterday, written by Garson Kanin and directed by Catherine Doherty, runs live on stage at Northern Stage at the Briggs Opera House in White River Junction, VT, from October 3 – 21, 2012.  For tickets and information, call 802-296-7000 or visit www.northernstage.org

The show stars Emily Stockdale as Billie Dawn and John Viscardi as Harry Brock.  Emily is the latest of the rising stars featured at Northern Stage; a recent graduate of Pace University's Musical Theatre program, she already scored a place in the New York Philharmonic's production of Company, and she topped Broadway actresses who also auditioned for the role here.  John created the role of Mike McAlary in the Off-Broadway play The Wood and appeared in Syracuse Stage's acclaimed production of Lost In Yonkers and boasts numerous television appearances in shows such as Law and OrderThe Sopranos and Queens Supreme

Performances are Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 5:00 p.m., except for the Opening Night performance on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7:00 p.m., with 2:00 p.m. matinee on Thursday, Oct. 11 and Sat., Oct. 13.  The show is sponsored by Stave Puzzles and Sabil & Sons Transportation.
