Jonathan Tolins's Buyer & Cellar runs live on stage at the Barrette Center for the Arts in White River Junction, VT February 27 - March 17. For tickets and information, call (802) 296-7000 or visit northernstage.org. Tickets start at $19 for students and $34 for adults.

Alex More has a story to tell. A struggling actor in L.A., he takes a job working in the Malibu basement mini-mall of beloved megastar Barbra Streisand. One day, the star herself comes downstairs to play. It feels like real bonding in the basement, but will their relationship ever make it upstairs? Buyer & Cellar is a comedy about the price of fame, the cost of things, and the oddest of odd jobs.

The production stars Northern Stage's Director of Education Eric Love (Off-Broadway: Peter and the Starcatcher). Since Love came to Northern Stage in 2015, the company's education and artistic outreach programming has grown dramatically. The Youth Ensemble Studio (YES) has quadrupled in size, the Summer Musical Theater Intensive is now by-audition and sees sold-out houses, and Boot Camp offers professional training and college preparation to students who want to pursue a career in theater. Love recently made his main stage directing debut with this season's acclaimed holiday production Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical, featuring many students from Northern Stage's educational programs. In addition to directing and working with students, Love has also appeared on stage at Northern Stage in Our Town and A Christmas Carol. The company is thrilled to have Love star in this one-man show.

The creative team is led by Northern Stage's inaugural BOLD Resident Director Maggie Burrows (Broadway Associate Director: My Fair Lady, Sylvia, Constellations. Northern Stage: Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Mad Love, Fox on the Fairway). "I'm so excited to share this wonderful play with the Upper Valley. Eric Love is an incredible actor and such a beloved member of the community: a perfect fit for this hilarious, moving, and deeply intimate story," says Burrows. The team is completed by Jordan Janota (Scenic Designer), Denise Block (Costume Designer), Travis McHale (Lighting Designer), Z Worthington (Sound Designer), Christopher Ash (Projection Designer), Danielle Zandri (Production Stage Manager), and Kyla Mermejo-Varga (Assistant Stage Manager).

A complimentary post-show reception with the company follows the opening night performance on Saturday, March 2. An optional post-show conversation will follow the evening performances on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10. $19 Student Tickets and $5 Access for All tickets (for EBT card holders) are available for any performance. Adult ticket prices range from $34 - $59. The 2018-19 Season is underwritten by Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital. Buyer & Cellar is sponsored by Pompanoosuc Mills and VPR (Media Sponsor).
