Joe Gulla's "Sleeping With The Fish" will play Vermont Pride Theater at Chandler's "Seventh Annual Summer Theater Festival" on Saturday, July 22nd and Sunday, July 30th at the Chandler Center for The Arts in Randolph, Vermont.
Written by Gulla and directed by Gene Heinrich, "Sleeping With The Fish" tells the story of goodfellas, Don and Ron. After dumping their friend/mafia colleague, Ernesto, off the side of the Staten Island Ferry, Don and Ron take time to evaluate the status of their "relationship". The cast includes: Vince Broderick, Will Wuttke and Andra Kisler
Gulla says of his play, "It's kinda like 'The Godfather' meets 'Brokeback Mountain'. Only, the famous Puzo quote, "Just when I thought I was OUT, they pull me back in!" - takes on a a whole new meaning! Ha!"
Joe Gulla recently won the 2017 Downtown Urban Arts Festival "Audience Award" for the performance of his play "Garbo" at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City. Directed by Brian Rardin, "Garbo" is a comedy/drama that recounts the playwright's years living in the Trastevere section of Rome, Italy.
What's next for Joe? The playwright states, "It's a busy Summer and that continues into Fall! I will be performing "FAGGY at 50", the second chapter of may "Bronx Queen Trilogy" at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater on July 30th. In October, Brian Rardin and I bring "The Bronx Queen" to Northern California. (It's West Coast debut!). Finally, we round out 2017 with the World Premiere of GAY.PORN.MAFIA, a collection of my award-winning comedies, in New York City."
