Dorset Theatre Festival, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dina Janis, Producing Director Will Rucker, and Executive Director Marissa Hutton, presents Dominique Morisseau's SKELETON CREW, directed by Jade King Carroll, with a case that includes Brenda Pressley (The Lyons) as "Faye," Leland Fowler (Henry V) as "Dez," Mirirai Sithole (School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play) as "Shanita," and Gabriel Lawrence ("Madam Secretary") as "Reggie."
SKELETON CREW will begin performances July 19, 2018 at the Dorset Playhouse (104 Cheney Road, Dorset, VT 05251), and will run through August 4, 2018.
In Dominique Morisseau's third play in her Detroit trilogy, a makeshift family of workers at the last exporting auto plant in the city navigate the possibility of foreclosure. Power dynamics shift, and they are pushed to the limits of survival. When the line between blue collar and white collar gets blurred, how far over the lines are they willing to step?
"Dominique's Detroit trilogy tells one of the most important and compelling stories of our times. Her work is brave, joyous, and impossible to forget. I am honored to be able to bring this amazing play to this region," said Dina Janis.
Skeleton Crew features scenic design by Kristen Robinson, costumes by Alice Tavener, lighting by Michael Giannitti, sound design by Karin Graybash, and projection design by Joey Moro. The stage manager is Emely Zepeda.
