The Bennington Center for the Arts concert series continues with, Banjo Dan and the Mid-nite Plowboys, New England's acoustic band playing original and traditional bluegrass music, on Aug. 5 at 8 p.m.

The show features original songs from the band's latest CD, "Fire in the Sugar House," along with old and new country songs, rousing fiddle and banjo tunes, gospel quartets, and imaginative adaptations of songs from a rich array of musical sources.

The Plowboys have been a top draw throughout the Northeast for over 30 years, have released a dozen recordings, and have several overseas tours to their credit including the first American bluegrass band to tour the Soviet Union. The British "Bluegrass News" said of the band: "A Banjo Dan performance is full of energy, variety and spontaneous humor. Why aren't there more good times like these?" The Bennington Center for the Arts is located on Rt. 9 West at 44 Gypsy Lane. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
