Alice by Heart is set in London, during the Blitz of World War II. Alice Spencer’s life is in shambles. She and her childhood friend Alfred, along with a group of misfits are forced to take shelter in an underground tube station. As Alfred’s health deteriorates, Alice takes him on a fantastical journey down the rabbit hole to Wonderland. There, the group in the tube station have transformed into characters from their favourite book, and challenge them in their quest.

This newest musical, by the writing team of Steven Sater, Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) and Jesse Nelson (Waitress), examines the tentative exploration of a first love, coming to terms with losing those closest to you, and daring to challenge adversity. This musical encourages us all to celebrate the transformative influence of the imagination, even when life seems bleak.
