Théâtre la Seizième will welcome back internationally-renowned, Montreal-based theatre company Les 7 Doigts (The 7 Fingers) for six performances of Cuisine & Confessions from Wednesday, January 25 to Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Vancouver Playhouse.
The creators behind Séquence 8 return to Vancouver with a delicious medley of theatre, dance, and circus. Cuisine & Confessions combines touch, smell, and taste with a feast for the eyes and ears, using the kitchen as a cultural and celebratory focal point.
In this gigantic kitchen, nine acrobats unite to create the most delightful meal. Ingredients are thrown this way and that, dishrags become aerial ribbons, bodies fold and unfold in a haze of flour, and the utensils waltz from one hand to the next. Among all the breathtaking acrobatics, family recipes are shared along with childhood memories and other intimate moments.
Cuisine & Confessions is produced by The 7 Fingers and presented by Théâtre la Seizième with Tom Lightburn. Conceived and directed by Shana Carroll & Sébastien Soldevila, Cuisine & Confessions is performed by Sidney Iking Bateman, Melvin Diggs, Mishannock Ferrero, Anna Kachalova, Anna Kichtchenko, Nella Niva, Matias Plaul and Pablo Pramparo.

By perpetually blurring artistic boundaries, The 7 Fingers strive to reach the universal, extraordinary, indefinable, visceral, and intimate worlds in each human being. Created in 2002 and now made up of 200 artists, administrators, and technicians, the collective offers roughly 1000 performances a year - both artistic collaborations and signature shows. In 2017, The 7 Fingers will inaugurate its own Creation and Production Centre. The centre, based in heart of Montreal's Quartier des Spectacles, will house the collective's trademark creation and production activities all under one roof. www.7doigts.com
