Pacific Theatre to Present Ron Reed's TOP TEN THOUSAND OF ALL TIME, 11/20-23

What do The Allman Brothers, Portishead, WH Auden, and the Toronto Blue Jays have in common? A solitary late-night disc jockey counts down his top ten thousand favourite tunes from the secret studio he discovered in Kerrisdale in Pacific Theatre's presentation of Top Ten Thousand of All Time by Ron Reed. A quirky and deceptively simple one-man play that was written at a time when Pacific Theatre's future was uncertain, Top Ten Thousand of All Time is as much about the work and calling of an artist as it is about the songs that make up the soundtrack to a person's life.

Written and performed by Artistic Director Ron Reed, there is a touch of autobiography in Top Ten Thousand of All Time. Not only is Reed a playwright, actor, and Artistic Director, but he is a musicophile and genuinely loves making lists of all kinds. While he may not have an actual top ten thousand songs of all time, if he did, you can be sure that every song mentioned in the play would make the cut.

Before founding Pacific Theatre in 1984, Reed received his MFA in acting from the California Institute of the Arts. He has received over 5 Jessie Award nominations for his acting and is a widely-produced playwright with over fifty productions of his plays to date.

Performed in San Francisco, Houston, Toronto, and Galiano Island, this will mark _Top Ten Thousand of All Time_'s debut on the Pacific Theatre stage.

Pacific Theatre is celebrating its 30th anniversary season, after being launched by Ron Reed and a small group of actors in 1984. Currently located in the historic Chalmer's Heritage Building at 12th and Hemlock, Pacific Theatre has a unique 128-seat alley-style theatre and is known for producing work that is intimate, honest, and challenging.
