April Verch has a fresh, feisty take on Ottawa Valley song and dance traditions, old-time American and Appalachian styles and beyond. She's been fearless leader of The April Verch Band since 2000, a virtuosic trio currently featuring Cody Walters (bass, claw-hammer banjo), and guitarist Alex Rubin.

Audiences will hear brand new material recorded in Fall 2018 and career-spanning highlights from her 11th album The April Verch Anthology. A true triple threat in performance, Verch's live show is a well-rounded tour-de-force of North Americana sounds that hones a keen awareness of engaging contemporary listeners.

Festival Place continues to be Alberta's #1 Presenter of Professional Artists. The 2017/2018 season showcased an eclectic mix of over 80 incredibly talented performers. The 2018/2019 season carries on the same ambitious standard of entertainment, with over 50 performances already scheduled between September 2018 and April 2019, with new shows added throughout the year.
