An open air theatre, nestled in the ancient English countryside. Home to a ragtag troupe of actors and dreamers, a family brought together under the vast summer sky. Faced with rising costs and funding cuts, in what may be their last ever season, the group are forced to grapple with their uncertain future.
But not before having a good stab at the past and present first. An upstart clashes with the old guard. An actor falls in love with a director. Traditions are trampled and selling out is seriously considered. Jealousy, betrayal and heartbreak litter the stage. Oh, and somebody kills a seagull for some reason.
Blurring the lines between reality and performance, Cherry Orchard and Seagull, this meta-theatrical fusion of two masterpieces explores the bittersweet dance of change, the interplay between contemporary and classic, and the enduring genius of Anton Chekhov.
