The acclaimed all-male contemporary dance/theatre company, ZoieLogic Dance Theatre, run by its founder and Artistic Director Zoie Golding, has been selected to receive a prestigious Elevate Award from Arts Council England which substantially increases its funding status.

"We are thrilled to have been selected for an Elevate Award," says Zoie Golding (pictured left). "This support gives us a wonderful opportunity to enable us to expand our reach in providing more opportunities for male participants and audiences across the UK. It'll enable us to move forward with our aspirations to create more dance work for male performers and to combine our artistic and strategic vision. Dance is a very powerful vehicle that engages guys and expands imaginations. It is something we are very passionate about and I'm very excited about the positive impact this Award will have on the sustainable future of ZoieLogic Dance Theatre."

ZoieLogic Dance Theatre will use a grant of £147,000 to increase opportunities for males to access dance as participants and audiences thereby supporting an underrepresented group and targeting those least likely to engage. They will sustain, develop and consolidate their cohesive package of male dance development locally, regionally and nationally. This will be achieved by building on existing relationships, nurturing new partners to extend their reach to new audiences, and investigating the potential impact of longer term funding on meeting their demand and reaching their aspirations.

Associate Artists of The Point, Eastleigh, Associate Choreographer of Octagon Theatre, Yeovil and Take Art, Supported Artist of Mayflower Theatre, Southampton, Gulbenkian Theatre, Kent. The company has built a reputation for blending highly physical, powerful dance with a narrative core such as 'Safe' (pictured left) - an entirely male dance experience with highly trained dancers who perform on cleverly designed sets.

Phil Gibby, Area Director, South West, Arts Council England, says: "We're really pleased to be supporting ZoieLogic through our Elevate fund. Zoielogic create exceptional opportunities and access to dance with a focus on males, challenging perceptions of men in dance. With our investment they will increase cultural participation in vulnerable young people and those who ordinarily don't have access to dance, offering opportunities and career pathways for young men in dance, and training and developing a new cohort of dance teachers."

ZoieLogic Dance is on tour with the highly entertaining 'RIDE', an outdoor show involving a 1980s Ford Orion car commissioned for International Dance Festival Birmingham to festivals and outdoor venues around the UK. The company is also looking forward to developing their new detective show 'SEVERANCE' in 2017.
