Whatsonstage.com reports that Will Keen stars as Macbeth alongside Anastasia Hille as Lady Macbeth in Cheek by Jowl's production of Macbeth, which runs March 24- April 10 at the Barbican Centre.
Declan Donnellan is directed the production, with designs by Nick Omerod. The production, part of a Eurpopean tour had dates in September and October in Belgium and Spain, and will resume touring in Paris in February. After the London engagement at the Barbican, the production is scheduled to play at the Brighton Festival from May 11-15.
Keen and Hille are both Cheek by Jowl alumni; Keen appeared in the 2006 production of The Changeling., whereas Hille starred in the company's production of The Duchess of Malfi in 1995. Keen's additional stage credits include Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Arsonists, Tom and Viv, Five Gold Rings, Pericles and The Coast of Utopia. Hille's stage credits include Women of Troy, Waves, Dream Play, Forty Winks, The Dark, Ashes to Ashes/Mountain Language and The Maids.
Keen and Hille, are joined on stage by David Caves, David Collings, Vincent Enterby, Jake Fairbrother, Nicholas Goode, Kelly Hotten, Orlando James, Ryan Kiggell, Greg Kolpakchi, and Edmund Wiseman.
Macbeth is a co-production with barbicanbite10, Les Gemeaus/Sceaux/SceneNationale, Koninklijke Schouwburg, Grand Theatre de Luxembourg, Theatre du Nord, Lille and Theatre de Namur/Centre Dramatique.
