The holiday season well and truly arrived in style at Waterside last night when its Christmas cracker of a show - The Bear by Raymond Briggs and presented by Pins & Needles Productions - opened to a full house.
With dazzling puppetry, delicious music, dreamy storytelling, and dozens of laughs, The Bear captivated its packed house of theatre critics, bloggers and reviewers -
both big and small - to create an unforgettable night for all the family.
This heart-warming and humorous wintry tale - brought to the stage by acclaimed Pins and Needles Productions - starred Leigh Quinn as Tilly with puppeteers Lori
Hopkins who also played Mum and Maxwell Tyler who also played Dad.
It is co-directed by Hal Chambers and Emma Earle. Emma is also Co-Artistic Director of Pins & Needles.
Darren Adams, Arts Centre Manager of Waterside says: 'We are delighted The Bear is now up and running and we get the chance to share this truly special and magical show by Pins and Needles with our audiences. We are over the moon at how well it was received last night by adults and kids alike, and we are really so thrilled that this show is very much on track to becoming our best selling Xmas production to date. "
The Bear runs until Saturday 6 January, with schools and public performances (times vary - go to thebearlive.com for a full breakdown) and is recommended for children between 3 and 11.
