Vicky Grout, Grace Savage, Dr Suzi Gage And The Secret Barrister Announced For London's First Off-Grid Culture Club Image

Lost Lectures announce the first wave of speakers for 'The Electrograph', a series of unique events that aim to spark minds and bring imagination to life this October. Opening the industrial doors to a disused power plant, the collective are hosting an off-grid culture club that will illuminate the very best of the city with world class talks and performances from the likes of Vicky Grout, Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris, Grace Savage, The Secret Barrister, Anna Ginsburg, Kamal Ahmed and many more. Running from 4th October, tickets are available now at lostlectures.com/events/electrograph/

Blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, guests can expect an all-encompassing experience within an electrical sub-station that will see old energy battle new energy. Each evening will host four different speakers and musical performances across an eclectic range of topics set within an interactive environment. With no two nights the same, topics will range from the sublime to the ridiculous.

London's foremost Grime photographer Vicky Grout will be joined by a couple of her famous mates for a discussion on London's musical scenes, while journalist and current economics editor for BBC News Kamal Ahmed will be sharing his modern take on the state of a nation from a man who has gone from being told to 'go home' due to his mixed race, to occupying one of the most elite positions in the British establishment.

Debunking myths on drugs will be Dr Suzi Gage, experimental psychologist and podcaster of 'Say Why To Drugs': a no hype, no spin and no judgment podcast on drugs, and Dr Robin Carhart-Harris, head of psychedelics research at Imperial. They'll be discussing the current scientific understanding of some of our 'favoured' varieties of narcotics and how drugs can be used to treat psychiatric disorders respectively.

Also speaking will be Tom Hockenhull, joint-curator of the British Museum's exhibition on dissent. He'll be sharing some highlights and surprising stories from what is undoubtedly London's most 'objectionable' exhibition, while four times UK beatbox champion and one of Elle UK's '100 most inspiring women' Grace Savage will give an empowering talk and performance that promises to push the boundaries of guests sonic sensibilities.

The Secret Barrister will be providing a candid, accessible, explanation of our criminal justice system, of how it works, and of how, all too often, it doesn't, and

There will also be talks from the likes of the BAFTA-award winning director and animator Anna Ginsburg, Emmy-award winning documentary filmmaker James Jones, intellectually slutty historian and author Dr Kate Lister, Technically Ron, Jamie Barlett , Amber Butchart and more.

With wall to floor visual projections, responsive set design and electronic theming, the voltaic evenings are set to become a playground for the podcast generation.

The Electrograph is the brainchild of Lost Lectures, an enchanting series of events that have built a cult following since their inception in 2012. Having hosted immersive and innovative talks from secret locations in London, New York and Berlin for the past six years, The Electrograph marks the next step in challenging the conventional. Launching this October, the series will see it's captivating experiences held inside a substation building, taking culture and subculture off the grid.

The underground series was founded by Julian Slawinski-Knight, who has re-imagined the lecture format by pushing its creative boundaries and inventing interactive worlds for audiences to play in. Each event brings together a diverse mix of world-class speakers made up of scientists, artists, designers, entrepreneurs and more, sharing insights and inspiration.

Lost Lectures presents The Electrograph will run from 4th October at a secret zone 2 London location. Tickets are available now at lostlectures.com/events/electrograph/
